To prepare yourself best for a desert tour we provide you with some information about the weather in the desert and what to wear.
Late sommer and autumn (september until mid of november):
During daytime we will have temperatures from around 25 to 35° celsius. Sun will shine all day long. Nights are nice and warm. Best time to sleep under the stars....
We recommend to bring:
- light clothes, like cotton or linen; if you want to respect culture and people please have a look that
your clothes are not too tide or too short
- a sunhat or anything which protects you against sunlight; dont forget suncream!
- for the desert nights: a pullover or jacket
Winter (mid of november until mid of february):
During daytime we will have around 20° celsius. Nights could get quite cold. Especially in december and january temperature could fall until 0° celsius. It could rain a bit. Normally it does not rain long time. Therefore winter time is the best time to discover the desert without sweating....
Please bring:
- for daytime light clothes
- sunhat and suncream
- for the desert nights: warm pullover and jacket, warm socks, if you need: gloves and scarf
Spring (mid of february until mid of june):
It gets warm again. From 25 to 35° celsius during daytime. Nights are getting warmer too. Especially in march and april we could have sandstorms. In the last years sandstorms were getting less and less hard. Nevertheless, we could get a stormy day...
We recommend:
- light clothes, like cotton or linen for hot days; because of respect for culture and people please have a look that your clothes are not too tide or short
- sunhat and suncream!
- for the desert nights: pullover or jacket
Summer (mid of june until end of august):
hottest time of the year, even locals are leaving the desert; 35 to 45° celsius; we dont recommend long desert tours especially for those who are not used to such hot weather; nights are really nice and warm; besides autumn best time to overnight in the desert (because its too hot inside)....
If you want to travel the desert in summer please bring:
- light clothes, like cotton or linen; because of respect for culture and people please have a look that your clothes are not too short or tide
- sunhat and suncream!!
- for warm desert nights: a light pullover
- we will provide you with enough drinking water. Please drink a lot of it!
Other useful things, which you could bring:
- good shoes
- something which protects you against mosquito bites
- if you need: small flashlight
- dont forget your camera!
- others, like your personal medicine, hygienic products, and so on
