Bahariya - for people interested in history:
Our oasis Bahariya exists since long, long time. Still, there are some interesting things to see from Bahariyas old time. Examples are the tomb of Banetui, the tempel of Amun-Re, the tempel of Qasr Migybah, which was built by Alexander the Great. Especially famous is Bahariya for its golden mummies. Some of these mummies you can see in an old warehouse.
Furthermore you might think about visiting the small, but interesting "Oasis Heritage Museum".
Cave Djara:
Yes, there is a cave in the middle of the desert. Its a stalactite cave. It was discoverd in the 19th century by Rohlfs, forgotten and re-discovered by the german Carlo Bergmann in 1989. A tour to Cave Djara you could also combine with a trip to the White Desert. Ask us for this. Cave Djara is worth being seen.
Gilf Kebir und Great Sand Sea:
For sure, we are also organizing big trips to Gilf Kebir and the Great Sand Sea. Maybe you heard about swimming in the desert? Please feel free to ask us for more information concerning such tours.
Depending on the time you want to spend and according to your interests we would be happy to organize an individual desert tour for you. Please plan for such a tour at least 2 weeks and please note that we can do such tours because of safty reasons only with big groups with at least 8 persons.
